Quick Beef Stroganoff Recipe
~ 10 Minute Preparation ~

This quick beef stroganoff recipe can be prepared in 10 minutes.  It makes a perfect meal when you don't have much time to cook but want to serve a hot, cooked supper.

If you don't have time to cook the meant an even quicker beef stroganoff recipe is roast beef stroganoff.

Quick Beef Stroganoff

Serves 4-6


  • 6 minute steaks, cut into strips 1/2-inch (12 mm) wide
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 4 Tablespoons butter or cooking oil
  • 1 10-ounce (284 grams) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 small can sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • garlic salt to taste
  • 1 cup sour cream


Saute onion in butter or oil until almost tender; push to one side of the pan.  Add strips of steak to pan, brown quickly, adding a little more oil if necessary.  Add cream of mushroom soup, water, mushrooms (optional), sour cream, Worcestershire Sauce, salt and garlic salt.  Heat through.  Do not boil or sour cream will curdle.

Serve at once over cooked noodles or instant rice.

Roast Beef Stroganoff

Quick and easy for those busy days.

Makes 4 servings


  • 1 10-ounce (284 grams) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup fresh mushroom, sliced or 1 can mushroom slices, drained
  • 2 cups strips of cooked roast beef
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/8 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup sour cream


Combine all ingredients, except the sour cream.  Heat through.  Stir in the sour cream and heat for 3 minutes.  Do not boil.  Serve over hot noodles.

For variation serve over cooked spinach.
