Banana Smoothie Recipe

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, fresh or concentrate
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg OR allspice
  • 2 or 3 ice cubes


Directions

Blend all the ingredients together at high speed in a blender.  Pour into glasses and serve cold.

Banana, Honey and Almond Smoothie

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 Tablespoons raw honey
  • 2 Tablespoons roasted almonds, chopped, plus more for garnish (optional)
  • 2 large ripe bananas, chopped


Directions

Place the yogurt, nutmeg, honey, almonds and bananas in a food processor.  Puree until smooth.

Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.  Garnish with roasted almonds just before serving (optional).
